SolarAttic  PCS1 Pool Heater
Solar without Panels
Solar technology using the radiant energy stored in your attic
Your roof will function as a massive solar panel
Concealed installation and operation is a solar dream
Now the benefits of solar energy can be enjoyed without the unsightly look, complicated installation, and maintenance problems of traditional solar panels. The Solarattic PCS1 is a patented specially designed solar heat exchanger designed to fit inside the attic space, transferring heat from the attic to your pool. Your roof acts as a massive solar panel. The PCS1 will collect and transfer this heat to your pool while lowering your attic temperature and cooling your house.

A NEW POOL HEATING SYSTEM

The PCS1 (Pool Convection System One) exchanges free solar heat from attics into swimming pools. Pools are heated for a fraction of the cost one would ordinarily expect.

NO FOSSIL FUELS, NO CFC CHEMICALS

The PCS1 will save you over 90% of the cost to heat by natural gas or heat pump. And it will heat without burning any fossil fuels or using any CFC chemicals. The bottom line is a warm pool without hot bills ! You can heat your swimming pool for around $10 per month.

NO SOLAR PANELS

The PCS1 derives its heat source from solar energy. But, the PCS1 does not have any of the problems associated with solar panel systems. Why ? Because the PCS1 is a heat exchanger that is installed in the attic. It does not use solar panels.
You won’t see any ugly solar panels on your roof line !

FAST PAYBACK

PCS1 provides low cost solar derived heat. At the same time it removes the ceiling heat and cools your home. Therefore, it pays for itself in saved pool heating and house cooling costs.

DESCRIPTION OF OPERATION

Solar radiation bombards the house’s roof structure throughout the day. The roof functions as a "solar collector". Solar radiation reaches the attic through a process called "conduction". The attic functions as a storage and heat transfer area. The PCS1 is physically located inside the attic and transfers this solar radiation from the attic air into the swimming pool’s water through a process called "forced air convection".

A fan forces hot air against the heat exchange panel transferring heat to the pool water circulating through the system. The unit can generate anything from 6 to 44kw per hour of heat output according to conditions.

FULL AUTOMATIC OPERATION

Is achieved with the optional LX-220 control. When the attic is 4-5 deg C. hotter than the pool and the pool needs heat, the LX-220 automatically routes water up the PCS1 and turns it on. It can even synchronize the pool’s pump by turning it on at the same time.
